What is Craniosacral Therapy?
Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle, hands-on form of bodywork. The name refers to the cranium, or skull, and the sacrum at the base of the spine.
In my practice, I work with the head and its connections to the rest of the body. I combine Craniosacral Therapy with Zero Balancing and Visceral Manipulation, depending on the person I am working with.
What happens in a session?
We begin by talking about what brings you in. You remain clothed while I work with gentle pressure and movement. I draw on the approaches that make up my practice, including Craniosacral Therapy, Zero Balancing and Visceral Manipulation.
You can ask questions or ask me to adjust or pause the work at any time. At the end, we can discuss what you noticed and whether to schedule another appointment.
My Craniosacral training
I have maintained a private bodywork practice since 1976. I began studying Craniosacral Therapy with Dr. John Upledger in 1984, then taught for the Upledger Institute from 1986 through 1999.
My teaching also includes Secrets of the Skull, which I developed for the Zero Balancing Health Association.
More about my backgroundFrequently asked questions
Is cranial sacral therapy the same thing?
Yes. “Cranial sacral therapy” is another way people write Craniosacral Therapy.
Do I need to choose a particular type of bodywork?
You can tell me you are interested in Craniosacral Therapy when we meet. I draw on several approaches during a session, so you do not need to book each one separately.
Which appointment should I book?
Choose an Introductory Session for your first visit and a Regular Session if you have worked with me before. Current prices and session lengths are listed on this page. Payment is collected at your appointment.
What should I wear?
You remain clothed during the session. Wear something comfortable.
How often should I come?
That depends on the person. We can discuss further appointments after your first session; you do not need to book a series.
Bodywork is complementary to medical care. It does not provide a medical diagnosis or replace treatment from your healthcare professional.
